The Crawford Park District and the City of Bucyrus announce the opening of the Unger Park Multi-Use Trail

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of a brand-new paved trail at Unger Park, made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Crawford Park District, the City of Bucyrus, generous state grants, and community sponsors. This 1-mile multi-use trail is designed to provide a safe, scenic space for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to enjoy the outdoors.
Please Note: No Motorized Vehicles AllowedTo ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, motorized vehicles—including golf carts, dirt bikes, and electric bikes—are not permitted on the trail. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping this space safe and peaceful for everyone.
Winter Use AdvisoryDuring the winter months, the trail will not be plowed. If you choose to explore the trail in snowy conditions, please plan accordingly and take necessary precautions.
Trail Access PointsYou can access the trail in two convenient ways:

From the parking lot off Bucyrus-Nevada Road, located about 700 feet west of the main Unger Park lot.
Via the Friendship Bridge at Aumiller Park.

Friends of the CPD is dedicated to helping the Crawford Park District achieve its goals of continuing nature conservation and education in Crawford County. Financial contributions by our Friends members helped build the Lowe-Volk Nature Center, preserve over 300 acres of parks, support community nature programs and develop an Astronomy Club! The groups we serve in our community include day cares, public & private schools, home-school groups, assisted living centers, 4-H and Scout clubs, civic clubs and more! Crawford Park District oversees the care and continued development of 6 public parks and nature preserves in Crawford County.
